Nearly two-thirds of Americans can’t name a single member of the United States Supreme Court, according to a new national survey by FindLaw.com (www.findlaw.com).
It might be fun to see how many lawyers might also fail the pop quiz, as this is a question also not on the bar examination. Perhaps the statistic isn’t as alarming as it sounds, as recent Fox survey found that only 34% of Americans could name the current Vice-President of the United States.
Perhaps you already know all nine justices’ names or would like the answer in case you get a call to appear on Jeopardy: Chief Justice John Roberts is the most well known of the justices, followed by Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, Anthony Kennedy, Samuel Alito, Elena Kagan, and Stephen Breyer, according to the survey results.
