The Wall Street Journal just ran an article on protecting land with conservation easements in their Wealth Management section, ” Laws Give Break for Land Preservation. But Hurry.“
The article notes that the many opportunities for people in our communities who want to protect their land, and those who want to keep farming or ranching while transferring it to their children, or those who want use it for estate planning.
We think the article does a nice job of explaining the benefits and the reasons for conserving land now, with the extended tax incentives for landowners.
The land use attorneys at Folkestad Fazekas Barrick & Patoile, P.C., work with land owners and land conservation groups such as the Douglas Land Conservancy to conserve lands important to our communities and to assist landowners in maximizing incentives for their valuable land.
