Katie James has been a partner of the law firm since 2017 and we decided it was time to change the firm name to reflect her ongoing contribution to the practice. Katie joined Folkestad Fazekas in 2014, to replace Ernie Fazekas upon his retirement, as leader of the transactions department of the firm. She has practiced since 2006 in a range of transactional matters with a focus on Estate Planning, Trust and Estate Administration, and Probate including Guardianships and Conservatorships. Katie also continues the firm’s long standing tradition of serving as general counsel to Colorado Special Districts (local governments). Her transactions practice includes Real Estate (she is a licensed Colorado real estate broker) and Land Use, and representing Small Business owners from formation of business entities through all manner of contracts and negotiations and including mergers and acquisitions. Katie is proud to be part of the firm’s long history in Douglas County and strives to uphold the firm’s strong reputation for providing comprehensive and competent legal representation.
