The Special District Association is a state wide organization serving the needs of special districts throughout the state.

Special districts provide services such as water and sewer, fire protection, emergency services and parks and recreation.  Colorado special districts also include metropolitan districts which provide a broad variety of services.  They are political subdivisions of the State of Colorado and have full governmental powers relative to the services they provide.  Mr. Folkestad has provided legal representation to special districts for more than thirty years.  Mr. Folkestad works as a member of the SDA’s Legislative Committee, which advocates the interests of special districts in the State Legislature.
