Castle Rock, Colorado-The Castle Rock Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has finalized a plan to build an ice rink just in time for the 2012 holiday season.
Through a true public-private partnership, the DDA is working closely with a private land owner, the Downtown Merchants Association, and the Town of Castle Rock to develop this new community asset.
The Rink at the Rock will offer ice activities November-January and provide a location for programs through the remainder of the year. Intimate concerts, cultural events, movies, and outdoor markets are envisioned for the space. The grand opening will coincide with the historic 77th annual Castle Rock Starlighting Ceremony on November 17.
“The arrival of the Rink at the Rock will be a catalyst for reinvigorating downtown Castle Rock. The entire community will benefit as we create an inviting gathering space and generate new energy for businesses to grow. The Downtown Development Authority looks forward to continued opportunities to strengthen and revitalize downtown. ”—Rick Stucy, DDA Board Chairman
The Rink at the Rock will be located at 411 N. Perry Street.
