If you love vintage cars, downtown Castle Rock will be the place to be this Saturday, June 18, 2011.
From 10 am to 3 pm, the Vintage Car Club of Castle Rock, the Town of Castle Rock, and the Downtown Merchants Association will host more than 250 car collectors and their vehicles on Wilcox Square.
To host this annual event, the following streets will be closed to traffic:
Wilcox between 3rd and 5th Streets
4th Street between Jerry and Perry Streets
Jerry Street between 3rd and 4th Streets
3rd Street between Wilcox and Perry
The parking lots at the County Building (301 Wilcox St)
The Courtyard by Sienna
Now in its third year, the Classic Rock Cruise In will feature some impressive street rods, classic muscle cars, and motorcycles. The most noteable cars on display will be: Junior Kaiser’s nitro-burning dragster and Kenny Bernstein’s Budweiser King Funny Car, courtesy of title sponsor, Speed Raceway.
The Ferrari Club will be located outside of the Courtyard at Sienna, along with plenty of vintage automobiles sure to take everyone old enough to remember back in time. If looking at the cars doesn’t transport you, the music of The Royal Aces will. Back by popular demand, this surfer band will play music from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s while car enthusiasts stroll Jerry, Perry and Wilcox Streets admiring the cars of yesteryear.
