Douglas County Divorce | Please remember you can find these changes as well as information on other Judicial Districts on the CBA Family Law Web page at: http://www.cobar.org/index.cfm/ID/21924
(FCF Heather Lang and Mag. Laura Findorff): All ISC’s pre and post-decree; follow up TSCs and case management; all temporary orders; all uncontested divorces; most non-appearance affidavits; all TPOs Monday Thursday.
(Judge Christopher Cross): All pre-and post-decree TSCs, hearings, and PPOs in odd-numbered cases other than those heard in Division 7.
- If your case is currently set for permanent orders, a final post decree hearing, or a contempt advisement or hearing, it will stay with the judge with whom it is currently set until the current setting is completed, regardless of the case number.
- Each DR Division has 1 to 1.5 staff, and each receives over 1,000 e-filings and over 250 phone calls/e-mails from counsel and pro se parties per week. Staff must address every e-filing, phone call, and e-mail, along with their duties to review pending matters, manage the caseload, address emergencies, pull mail and files, and assist the judge or magistrate in court.
Many of you have kindly asked what you can do to help us. Here are some suggestions:
PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL ABOUT A PARTICULAR ISSUE ONLY 1 TIME. We try to respond to all e-mails and calls within 24 hours or on the next business day. However, if you don’t receive a return call or e-mail within 5 working days, it is OK to call again.
Thanks, everyone, for your understanding and continuing cooperation during this time of diminished staffing and resources.
