Aaron Barrick, the Chief Civil Litigator and Managing Director of Folkestad Fazekas Barrick & Patoile, P.C., received the Legion of Merit Medal from the Department of Defense at his retirement ceremony from the United States Air Force Reserves on August 5, 2012.
He received the Legion of Merit for his meritorious service during more than 21 years of military service to his country. He received the award from the Adjutant General for the State of Colorado, Major General H. Michael Edwards, and also received a congratulatory letter from President Obama and Governor Hickenlooper for his service.
Colonel Barrick retired as the State Judge Advocate General for Colorado and the Staff Judge Advocate of the State Headquarters, Colorado Air National Guard. In these capacities, he served as the senior legal advisor to the Adjutant General of Colorado, with authority over all judge advocates in the Colorado National Guard and responsibility for the legal support for all commanders and more than 4,500 of the Colorado National Guard. The retirement ceremony was attended by many members of the law firm of Folkestad Fazekas Barrick & Patoile, who have been very supportive of his service over the years, and received the Patriot Award from the Department of Defense last year in recognition of the firm’s sacrifice and commitment to furthering Colonel Barrick’s career and duties for our national defense. Mr. Barrick will now focus on serving his clients in the private practice of law at Folkestad Fazekas Barrick & Patoile, P.C.
